Job Summary
Mackenzie Health is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Healthcare Administrative Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clerical and administrative support to maintain a progressive, efficient, and organized healthcare environment.
- Operate, maintain, and order different types of office and hospital equipment and supplies.
- Use EPIC to support effective communications within the area, including case bookings, demographic label printing, and other EPIC duties as required.
- Prepare charts for surgical cases, manage patient flow, and make post-discharge calls as needed.
- Respond to telephone inquiries and call bells, and communicate with staff, patients, and families.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Prior experience in an administrative/clerical role, preferably within a healthcare environment.
- Keyboarding skills (40 wpm).
- Experience with computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively de-escalate situations.
- Customer Service skills.
- Proven attendance record.
- Understanding and compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
- Empathy in interactions with others and demonstration of behaviours consistent with Mackenzie Health's Commitment to Caring.
