About the Role

The Alzheimer Society of B.C. is seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Training Specialist to support the delivery of standardized training programs for healthcare providers across British Columbia.

This critical role focuses on enhancing the skills and knowledge of person-centered care practices among long-term care workers, with a particular emphasis on U-First health-care provider training.

As a key member of our education team, you will be responsible for leading train-the-trainer workshops, developing systems for monitoring staff participation, and evaluating program outcomes.

About You

To succeed in this role, you must have a post-secondary education or relevant degree in healthcare, social work, education, gerontology, or a related field.

You should have 3 to 5 years of experience working within the health or social care sector, with a proven track record of delivering standardized training programs and coaching professionals to achieve set goals.

Your expertise in adult education best practices, group facilitation, and presentation delivery will enable you to engage healthcare providers and ensure effective training program implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Facilitate Training Programs: Create and deliver high-quality training programs that meet the needs of healthcare providers, focusing on U-First health-care provider training and other relevant topics.
  2. Lead Train-the-Trainer Workshops: Design and facilitate workshops to equip healthcare education facilitators with the skills and knowledge needed to deliver standardized training programs.
  3. Evaluate Program Outcomes: Conduct regular evaluations to assess the effectiveness of training programs and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  4. Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with the Provincial Coordinator, Health-Care Community of Practice, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment between program objectives and community needs.
  5. Maintain Confidential Client Files: Utilize Raiser's Edge software to record training attendance and stakeholder engagement, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
Technical Requirements
  • Proficient Technology Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel) and ability to maintain confidential client files using Raiser's Edge software.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $73,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as comprehensive employee benefits, including flexible work arrangements and paid time off.
