Job Summary

Propak Systems Ltd. is seeking a skilled Machinist Apprentice to join our Fabrication Shops in Airdrie, AB. As a Machinist Apprentice, you will be responsible for setting up and operating precision metal cutting and grinding machines to make and repair products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate precision metal cutting and grinding machines such as lathes, mills, drills, and grinders.
  • Study specifications, charts, drawings, or sample parts to determine the machining operation to be performed.
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances, and prepare working sketches if necessary.
  • Measure and mark metal and other materials.
  • Set up and operate tools, which may be computer numerically controlled, to perform precision machining operations.
  • Fitting parts to mechanisms and verifying dimensions.

Qualifications:

  • Be a registered apprentice at either 2nd or 3rd year level.
  • 2+ years of directly related work experience.
  • CNC Programming experience is an asset.
  • Motivated and willing to learn.
