The Abbotsford School District is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Elementary Counsellor to join our team in a temporary contract position. As an itinerant counsellor, you will provide emotional, social, and behavioral support to identified students across multiple elementary schools in the district.
Key Responsibilities- Provide ongoing support to students, parents, and families through individual and group sessions
- Collaborate with school-based teams and integrated care teams to develop and implement support plans
- Liaise with district and community agencies to access resources and services
- Support teachers and staff in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Master's Degree in Counselling with a counselling practicum relevant to the school environment
- Experience as a school counsellor at the elementary level
- Training in violence, threat, risk assessment (VTRA) and non-violent crisis intervention certification
- Eligibility for B.C. Certification
- Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum reports
The Abbotsford School District offers a competitive salary range of $61,838 to $108,458, based on length of service and qualifications. We also provide opportunities for professional development and career growth in a supportive and collaborative work environment.
