About the Role

The Abbotsford School District is seeking a skilled Elementary Itinerant Counsellor to join our team. As a Counsellor, you will provide emotional, social, and behavioral support to identified students across multiple elementary schools in the district.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide ongoing support to students, parents, and families through referrals to community agencies and direct support.
  • Participate in School-Based Teams and integrated care teams to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Liaise with district and community agencies to access resources and programs for students.
  • Support teachers and staff in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Counselling with a counselling practicum relevant to the school environment.
  • Experience as a school counsellor at the Elementary Level.
  • Training in violence, threat, risk assessment (VTRA) and non-violent crisis intervention certification.
  • Eligible for B.C. Certification.
  • Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum report.
