Job Description
As a Senior Financial Analyst at Harris, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing detailed balance sheet reconciliations. You will identify accounting and operational risks/issues and propose solutions to mitigate them.
You will calculate commissions owed based on invoicing/bookings and review compensation plans to understand their impact on accounting for commissions. Additionally, you will track maintenance billing and revenue, identify missed billing, analyze customer attrition, and advise the Business Unit on forecasting and operational issues.
Key responsibilities include preparing reports of actual GL details compared with forecast, proactively identifying and correcting issues, and advising the Business Unit on changes needed to GL or to forecast. You will also manage project revenue recognition schedules, calculating monthly revenue, assessing estimates of hours to complete, and assisting the Business Unit with forecasting.
Using reporting software, you will forecast benefits, payroll taxes, and depreciation, as well as update actual results for headcount, bookings, and backlog. Finally, you will assist with special projects and ad-hoc reporting as required by the divisional Controller, EVP, and VP's.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have 4+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis and/or accounting. A CPA member/student (or member/student of a similar professional accounting body) is highly desirable.
Effective communication skills are essential, as you will be working with all levels of management. A solutions-focused mindset with a desire to improve processes is critical. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail are also necessary.
