We are seeking a highly skilled individual to join our reinsurance team at Definity Financial Corporation. This role offers a unique opportunity to work collaboratively across different teams and contribute to the success of our corporate strategy.

  • Support the annual end-to-end reinsurance placement process, including preparation of underwriting submissions, presentation materials, and reinsurance / reinsurer strategies.
  • Develop marketing and background materials for reinsurer engagements, leveraging strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Analyze and reconcile data compared to prior submissions, working closely with legal and reinsurance teams to review and analyze wording changes.
  • Support post-renewal workflow, maintaining reinsurance placement data / documents and ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Contribute to the quarterly reinsurance forecast as part of our corporate business plan process, providing valuable insights and analysis.
  • Lead the delivery of reinsurance analysis, including P&L performance, counterparty monitoring, catastrophes and large losses, and other ad hoc analysis.
  • Collaborate with the reinsurance accounting and finance team on month-end activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

The ideal candidate will possess a university or college degree in business, finance, or a related program, along with relevant experience in financial and analytical roles within the insurance and/or reinsurance industry. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Flexibility to handle time-sensitive requests and a professional demeanor are essential qualities for this position.
