Job Summary

The Security Officer at McLean Hospital provides a safe and secure environment, ensuring the protection of people and property. This role involves receiving general direction from the Security Supervisor and responding to routine and emergency calls for service.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensures a safe and secure environment, providing protective services to people and property.
  2. Responds to routine and emergency calls for service.
  3. Assists with day-to-day operations of the department.
  4. Performs access control functions, including enforcing visitor policies and restricting access to authorized personnel.
  5. Performs dispatch and console duties, including coordinating security activities and responding to incidents.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma required.
  • A strong educational background in criminal justice or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of security or related experience preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts Driver's License.
  • Must obtain and maintain required certification in CPR/AED/First Aid, CPI De-Escalation Training, and International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Officer Certification.

Work Environment

This is a part-time standard hours position with 16 hours per week. The shift is evening job and the employee status is regular. The recruiting department is MCL Security Staff.
