About the Role
The Halton Regional Police Service is seeking a skilled Court Documents and Disclosure Clerk to join our team. As a key member of our Crown Brief Review Group, you will play a crucial role in supporting the effectiveness and efficiency of police operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process informations, summons, and warrants, as well as Crown Briefs and other court documents.
- Review arrest reports and supporting documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Log accused persons' names, charges, and court dates for follow-up with officers.
- Prepare Crown Briefs, including receiving and logging briefs, creating NICHE documents, and collating relevant documentation.
- Query various information sources to identify and access required information.
- Communicate with Crown Attorney, defence lawyers, and Court Administration as required.
Requirements
- High school education.
- Minimum of one year of administrative or related work experience.
- Knowledgeable about Adobe E-briefs is an asset.
- Familiarity with the Criminal Code of Canada and the Court System.
- Knowledge of police organizations, and/or a law enforcement background.
