Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plastics Machine Operator to join our team at EPL Plastics. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various plastic manufacturing equipment, ensuring high-quality products and efficient production processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain plastic manufacturing equipment, including mixing machines, calender machines, and extruding machines.
  • Weigh and mix resins, colorants, and other chemicals according to formulae.
  • Monitor and inspect the quality of material produced, ensuring it meets our high standards.
  • Unload mixture into containers or conveyors for further processing.
  • Set up and operate calender machines to transform plastic bales or slabs into continuous sheets or films of specified thickness.
  • Adjust calender rollers for production line changes.
  • Set up and operate extruding machines to extrude plastic compound through a nozzle or die.
  • Change dies on extruding machines according to production line changes.
  • Set up and operate moulding machines to mould plastic products.
  • Prepare and change moulds and adjust equipment for production line changes.
  • Follow formulation cards to mix resin batches for injection moulding processes.
  • Organize and maintain inventory.
  • Perform trimming and sanding of plastic or fiberglass parts.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to distinguish between colours.
  • Repetitive tasks.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Handling heavy loads.
  • Hand-eye co-ordination.
  • Fast-paced environment.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Overtime required.
  • Physically demanding.
  • Standing for extended periods.
Working Conditions

The work site environment is noisy. Public transportation is available. The work is physically demanding, and overtime is required.
