Job Summary

The Health Sciences Centre is seeking a highly skilled Perinatal Nurse to join our team in the Fetal Assessment Unit. As a Perinatal Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to high-risk obstetrical patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the healthcare needs of high-risk obstetrical patients.
  • Collaborate with the Perinatologist and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience in a high-risk perinatal unit.
  • Previous experience in a fetal assessment unit is preferred.
  • Graduate of an approved School of Nursing required.
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Successful completion of the Obstetrical Ultrasound course through the Burwin Institute of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound or an equivalent required.
  • Maintain and provide proof of registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Competency in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to provide care for all aspects of pregnancy, including termination.
