We are seeking an Advanced Respiratory Therapist Specialist to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority.

Job Summary

The Advanced Respiratory Therapist Specialist will perform a variety of respiratory therapy duties as required by the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists' Scope of Practice and Institutional Policy and Procedure.

About the Opportunity

This role includes assessing patients, implementing treatment plans, evaluating progress, adapting care plans according to patient needs, and expected outcomes. The successful candidate will also implement a respiratory discharge plan.

Recruitment Incentives

Successful candidates may be eligible for a signing bonus of up to $10,000 and relocation assistance of up to $5,000 with a defined Return of Service contract.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Therapist with:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy, and registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification, or willingness to obtain
  • Current Heart & Stroke BCLS (Level C) Certification
  • Membership in good standing with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT), preferred
  • Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and work under pressure of time limitations
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills; must be an effective team player
  • Competencies in other languages, French preferred

Hours
  • Permanent Full-time Position; 75 hours bi-weekly
Compensation and Incentives

The hourly rate for this position is $29.66 - $40.66. Successful candidates may also be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
