Respiratory Care Specialist

The Respiratory Therapist role at Nova Scotia Health Authority is a vital part of our Cardio-Respiratory Department. This position is responsible for assessing patients' respiratory health, implementing treatment plans, and evaluating progress. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory therapy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive respiratory assessments and implement treatment plans
- Evaluate patient progress and adapt treatment plans as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care
- Develop and maintain accurate patient records
- Graduate of an accredited School of Respiratory Therapy and registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification, or willingness to obtain
- Current Heart & Stroke BCLS (Level C) Certification
- Member in good standing with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapist (CSRT) preferred
Nova Scotia Health Authority offers a competitive salary range of $29.66 - $40.66 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
