We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Coordinator to join our team in the role of Municipal Infrastructure Specialist. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in contract administration and construction management.

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will work closely with our engineering team to provide contract administration and risk management services for municipal infrastructure projects in Southern and Southwestern Ontario and the GTA.
  • Responsibilities include interpreting contract documents, managing construction progress, preparing payment certificates, and resolving Contract Change Requests and Claims.
  • The incumbent will also lead construction progress meetings, prepare minutes, and liaise with contractors, clients, and municipal officials on project updates and progress.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in contract administration or relevant experience in construction/reconstruction of water or wastewater infrastructure.
  • A thorough knowledge of construction and contracting principles, methods, procedures, and practices, including contract administration related to changes, claims, and delays.
  • Licensed member of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or Certified Civil Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) would be considered an asset.
  • Positive attitude, good leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in project planning, risk management, cost management, schedule management, and preparation/administration of contract documents and specifications.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as part of a team.
  • MTO Class 'G' driver's license in good standing and access to a personnel vehicle.
  • Effective communicator possessing demonstrated skills in dealing with other staff, contractors, and the public, with matters arising from construction projects.
  • Familiarity with current traffic control regulations.
  • Familiarity with relevant environmental regulations, municipal approvals, and local by-laws.
  • Possess working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its Regulations, and Ontario Provincial Standards and Specifications (OPSS) for Municipal projects.
  • Demonstrate skills in the use of computer utilizing programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook).
