Job Title: Heliport Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Heliport Specialist to join our Aviation Planning and Advisory group in our Kitchener-Waterloo office. Alternative locations may be available for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will have eight plus (8+) years of experience related to heliport planning, design, and operations. They should possess excellent communication skills, be able to analyze and interpret statistical data, and prioritize multiple project timelines effectively.

The position requires strong proficiency in AutoCAD and the MS Office suite of programs, as well as experience working on international and domestic projects. The successful candidate will also have sound foundational knowledge in design and operation of airport and heliport facilities.

This role may require periodic travel within Canada and internationally. All candidates are expected to have a valid driver's license.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of planning studies for heliports and related aviation studies
  • Advising on heliport design requirements
  • Project delivery, including coordination with the planning team, clients, and stakeholders
  • Collection and interpretation of transportation data and statistics
  • Conducting site visits to gather relevant information and engage with operators and stakeholders
  • Liaising with authorities having jurisdiction regarding project requirements
Requirements:
  • University degree or advanced College diploma, or Master's degree in aviation, planning, engineering, or architecture
  • Eight plus (8+) years of experience in heliport planning, design, and operations
  • Strong communications and report writing skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data related to facility and infrastructure requirements
  • Mature, self-motivated individual with effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
