Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydraulic Project Engineer to join our team at ANDRITZ Hydro Canada. As a key member of our hydraulic engineering team, you will play a central technical role in the design and execution of projects, from preliminary design to site execution.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure seamless project execution, aligning with project requirements and technical specifications.
  2. Communication and Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and laboratory teams, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  3. Model Testing and Analysis: Participate in model testing in our European laboratories, analyzing results and providing recommendations for project improvement.
  4. Site Inspections and Performance Testing: Conduct cavitation inspections and performance tests at power plant sites across Canada, ensuring compliance with technical requirements.
  5. Project Monitoring and Budgeting: Monitor project budgets and schedules, ensuring timely completion and adherence to technical specifications.
  6. Transient Analysis and Development: Perform transient analysis and contribute to the development of hydraulic turbine passages for new machines and rehabilitation projects.
  7. Process Development and Improvement: Support the definition and development of hydraulic engineering processes, ensuring continuous improvement and optimization.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree is desirable.
  2. Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in hydro engineering, with a strong background in hydraulic design and project execution.
  3. Skills: Creativity, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  4. Language: Fluency in French and English, spoken and written.
  5. Travel: Available to travel across Canada, US, and Europe for periods generally limited to a few days, totalizing up to approximately 10% of annual work time.
