About the Lynn Lake Project
The Lynn Lake project, one of Canada's highest-grade open pit gold deposits, presents a significant opportunity for growth in our business. Located in northern Manitoba, the project consists of two primary sites: MacLellan and Gordon. With its low costs and existing infrastructure, we are looking for a skilled professional to join our team.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Community Relations Manager to assist in the successful delivery of the Lynn Lake Project. Reporting to the Director of Projects, you will work closely with the corporate Sustainability Department to engage with First Nation community partners and other project stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and collaborate with local First Nations and community members;
- Meet and collaborate with local community representatives and council;
- Document all community meetings and commitments;
- Work with other Project functional areas to ensure Impact Benefit Agreement (IBA) commitments are implemented and tracked;
- Ensure Provincial and Federal licensing and permitting commitments are met;
- Collaborate with technical leads to ensure Project documentation and training initiatives are culturally aligned;
- Deliver environmental studies, management plans, and permits that meet IBA(s) and Licensing conditions;
- Implement Alamos' Sustainability Performance Management Framework, specifically community-related standards;
- Coordinate site visits with stakeholders as required;
Requirements & Qualifications:
- A post-secondary degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field;
- A proven track record of developing and sustaining relationships with Indigenous community leaders;
- At least 5 years (10 preferred) of relevant professional work experience working with First Nations in remote communities;
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently;
- Strong decision-making skills and interpersonal abilities;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities;
- Commitment to social responsibility;
- Experience implementing mining industry IBAs is considered an asset;
- Willingness to travel and strong proficiency in MS Office applications.
Estimated Salary:
$85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
