Job SummaryThis is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Communications professional to lead and coordinate our media relations functions, including drafting press releases, generating media hits, and building relationships with journalists. The successful candidate will also have excellent writing and editing skills, strong analytical and report-writing capability, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
Key Responsibilities- Media Relations: Prepare and disseminate press releases, statements, and other materials to generate media coverage for Islamic Relief's programs, campaigns, and events.
- Content Management: Work with the marketing team to prepare different types of content, including social media posts, speeches, and emails.
- Team Leadership: Manage and oversee the media and content team, ensuring excellent writing and editing skills, as well as strong analytical and report-writing capability.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate government meetings, networking with key stakeholders, and attending Ottawa events.
- Education: Degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in media relations, communications, or a related field.
- Skills: Excellent writing and editing skills, strong analytical and report-writing capability, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Language: Fluency in English required.
The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. This is a remote position based anywhere in Canada, with occasional weekend and evening work required.
