The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team as a technical lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical oversight and leadership on a variety of projects related to structural engineering for our heavy industrial clients. This is a fly-in fly-out opportunity that requires a strong technical background and excellent leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight on structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes.
  • Manage and lead a team of engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Perform structural analysis and design, utilizing expertise in finite element analysis and other relevant tools.
  • Prepare and review project reports, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other design professionals to ensure successful project delivery, leveraging expertise in project management and coordination.
  • Attend project meetings and coordinate with client representatives and contractors as required during the construction phase, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing structures and provide recommendations for repairs or remediation, applying expertise in structural assessment and repair.
  • Review and provide technical guidance on structural engineering standards and codes, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance and support as needed, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a strong background in heavy industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial, mining, and metal, oil and gas, petrochemicals, power, or nuclear plants/facilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of structural engineering principles, codes, and standards, including ASCE, ACI, and AISC.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and manage a team of engineers and designers.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed, with a valid passport and ability to obtain necessary visas.
