Educational Background & Preferred Expertise:

A Master's degree in Structural Engineering is essential. The ideal candidate should possess extensive expertise in Structural Design, particularly in the realm of Underground Structures or Tunneling Design. A minimum of 15 years of professional experience, particularly in Hydro projects, is required.

Primary Duties:
  1. Oversee the planning and design phases of medium to large-scale hydroelectric projects.
  2. Independently create layouts and tender documentation, conduct bid evaluations, and review designs and drawings from contractors and designers for Hydro Power Projects.
  3. Engage in analysis, design, detailing, coordination, and the preparation of construction drawings for hydro power infrastructures such as dams, underground facilities, and powerhouses.
  4. Perform feasibility assessments and due diligence studies.
  5. Knowledge of Indian, British, American, and European engineering codes is advantageous.
  6. Conduct analysis and design of Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) structures in accordance with various national and international standards.
  7. Estimate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and prepare relevant drawings.
  8. Proficiency in AutoCAD is a beneficial asset.
  9. Collaborate with clients and site teams to address technical and project-related challenges.
  10. Review the Methodology Quality Plan (MQP) and the Field Quality Plan (FQP) for civil works.
  11. Facilitate discussions with all project stakeholders.
Essential Skills:
  1. Strong technical acumen and demonstrated experience in hydro power design, including structural analysis using software such as ANSYS, NISA, ETABS, and STAAD Pro.
  2. Proven experience in the planning and design of medium to large hydropower projects.
  3. Experience in project management is essential.
  4. International experience is considered a plus.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong presentation abilities.
  6. Proficiency in STAAD Pro software is required.
  7. Experience in preparing project BOM and BOQ.
  8. Capability to perform dynamic analysis for structural components.
Technical Proficiencies:
  1. Preparation and review of construction drawings for buildings and structural equipment.
  2. Design expertise in foundation tunnels and hydro projects.
  3. Development of technical specifications for various project packages.
  4. Creation of construction drawings for power transformers, substations, and switchyard structures.
