As a key member of Devmont's team, we are seeking a seasoned Director, Pre-Construction Design to oversee the entire land development lifecycle. Reporting directly to our VP of Development, you will be responsible for managing project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely delivery and seamless transitions between land development, detailed design, and construction phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and oversee consulting teams to design optimized buildings that meet constructability objectives
  • Work closely with contractors and vendors to implement best-practice and cost-effective solutions during building design
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Develop project schedules and budgets in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues impacting project timelines, budgets, or quality
  • Deliver effective executive-level communication

Land Acquisition Due Diligence: We require someone who can conduct due diligence assessments on potential land acquisitions, evaluating planning entitlements, environmental factors, servicing, and other relevant aspects affecting property development and timing. You will provide recommendations and present findings to senior management for decision-making.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years' experience in a similar role, with a minimum of 5 years as a Construction Project Manager
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Construction Engineering or Architecture
  • Strong skills in Design and proven project management in land development
  • Detailed understanding of all aspects and disciplines within land development and construction
  • Experience managing and executing residential projects with a scope of over $50M
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong leadership capabilities and ability to manage cross-functional teams
  • Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate issues and implement effective solutions
