About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Communications and Public Affairs to join our team at the City of Toronto. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communications strategies that support our public health objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute strategic communications plans to promote public health initiatives and programs
* Provide expert advice to senior executives and decision-makers on communications and public affairs matters
* Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, media, and community organizations
* Lead a high-performing team of communications professionals and provide guidance on best practices and emerging trends
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a communications and public affairs leader in the public health or health sector
* Strong understanding of public health priorities and issues
* Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
