Medical Device Reprocessing Specialist

This position is responsible for performing a series of technical duties related to the decontamination, sterilization, reassembly, and function testing of medical and/or surgical supplies and medical devices for the operating room and various areas of the hospital.
The successful candidate will be required to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the efficient and effective processing of medical devices.
In addition to technical duties, this position will also perform related clerical duties and record keeping.
About YouWe are seeking a qualified candidate with a Grade 12 education and successful completion of an approved Medical Device Reprocessing Technician Program.
Previous experience working in the setting is preferred, as is membership with the Medical Device Reprocessing Association of Nova Scotia.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential for this role.
About the PositionThe successful candidate will be required to take and pass a functional assessment to determine their physical capabilities to complete the physical job demands of the job.
Travel to various sites may be required.
A skills test will be included as part of the selection process.
