About the Opportunity

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer reports to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, as a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Team performs patient care, technical activities and duties directly related to the overall functioning of the department. The purpose of this position involves the performance of routine and specialized ultrasound procedures in the Diagnostic Imaging Department ensuring proper application of ultrasound techniques and procedures.

Travel to other sites may be required.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree from an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound, Sonography Canada certification, Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure, and current CPR Certification.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the technical language and be able to review and use manuals and take part in relevant discussions. Previous experience is an asset, and registration with more than one ultrasound credential is also an asset. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.

Hours
  • This is a long-assignment, full-time position with approximately 18 months.
  • Call back, stand by, and shift work are required, including days, evenings, and weekend and holiday coverage.
Compensation and Incentives

The hourly rate for this position is $34.24 - $39.96.
