About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher to join our team at Ultimate Co. as a key member of our construction team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education and Training
    • No formal education or certification is required for this role.
  • Work Site Environment
    • The work environment is typically dusty.
  • Work Setting
    • This role is based in a commercial setting.
  • Tasks and Responsibilities
    • Instruct and mentor apprentices in drywall finishing techniques.
    • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish.
    • Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster to create a seamless surface.
    • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and ensure a professional finish.
    • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
    • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
    • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to ensure a precise fit.
    • Position and secure drywall sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
    • Hand-eye coordination is essential for this role.
    • The workload is typically large and demanding.
    • The role is physically demanding and requires standing for extended periods.
    • Repetitive tasks are a regular part of this job.
  • Own Tools and Equipment
    • A hard hat is required for safety.
    • A mask is necessary for protecting against dust and debris.
    • Safety glasses or goggles are essential for protecting the eyes.
    • Steel-toed safety boots are required for foot protection.
    • A set of tools is necessary for completing tasks efficiently.
