About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineering Manager to lead our Tunnel and Shaft Engineering team in Ontario. As a key member of our Geotechnical Practice, you will be responsible for providing technical and operational leadership, driving growth, and managing day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership to identify and capitalize on business development opportunities.
  • Oversee career and talent development for the team, focusing on expertise development and achieving excellence.
  • Liaise with market and client teams to establish resource demand and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Manage team performance, focusing on meeting or exceeding productivity and break-even targets, and controlling overheads to budget.
  • Work with the Practice Director to ensure skills and capacity meet the needs of target markets through recruitment and focused staff development.
  • Act as a Project Director/Project Manager as appropriate and undertake technical delivery.
  • Promote and champion technological innovation and development within the team.
Requirements
  • Expert understanding of Shaft and Tunnel Engineering services.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience of managing a successful geotechnical engineering business delivering services for a range of clients.
  • Proven ability to help identify and capitalize on business development opportunities, including the provision of fee estimates and developing technical/quality submissions as part of a tender process.
  • Proven ability and experience in applying business policies, safety, quality, and environmental management systems, project governance procedures, and financial control systems to team management, projects, and project portfolios.
