Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Technical Director to lead our tunneling and underground structures team in North America. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering solutions and providing technical guidance to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project teams in the evaluation of tunnel alignments, geometry of stations and shafts, temporary support systems, geotechnical data, structural analysis, design of tunnels and tunnel liner systems, coffer dams, slurry walls, and cross passages.
  • Prepare work plans, schedules, and budgets along with preparing engineering reports, specifications, and other technical documents.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and manage the production of drawings and specifications for underground projects while also reviewing design options for both technical and financial impact.
  • Perform site and field inspections and condition assessments.
Requirements
  • Degree in structural engineering, civil engineering, or geotechnical engineering or a field related to underground construction/tunneling.
  • P.Eng. designation in Ontario or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire. Licenses in US states an asset.
  • 15+ years of related experience in the tunnel and/or underground infrastructure with 5+ years of prior experience working as a Design Manager.
  • Experience in the delivery of Design-Build underground projects at all phases, including feasibility/conceptual studies to detailed design.
  • Extensive experience in the tunneling/underground industry along with substantial technical management experience for small to large-scale tunnel and underground projects.
