Senior Water Quality Specialist

The Position:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Water Quality Specialist to join our Environmental Management team. As a senior leader, you will be responsible for the implementation of water quality, sediment quality, and aquatic effects monitoring programs for multiple sectors in BC and resource development projects throughout Western Canada and the North.
You will provide leadership to project teams over the entire life cycle of a project, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results. Your expertise in quality assurance/quality control and project management will be crucial in overseeing teams during data collection and reporting.
The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on technical delivery, with a proven track record of success in complex water quality and environmental effects monitoring projects. You will also possess excellent communication skills to convey scientific work to non-scientific audiences, as well as experience in supporting clients with regulatory and engagement efforts with Indigenous Groups, stakeholders, and the public.

Requirements:
- University education in environmental science, toxicology, or biological sciences, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred, but a bachelor's degree with significant work experience is considered equivalent to a graduate degree.
- Professional Registration as a Registered Professional Biologist (College of Applied Biology of British Columbia) or eligible for professional registration.
- 10 or more years of relevant experience in water quality and environmental effects monitoring, with a strong focus on technical delivery and project management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- An in-depth knowledge of BC and CCME water quality guidelines, as well as the Environmental Assessment process in BC.
