AGS Automotive Systems is a leading manufacturer and supplier of complex automotive metal components. We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our team.
Key Responsibilities- Perform duties as outlined by the Provincial Government in accordance with Regulated Trade 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright.
- Possess and maintain all necessary hand tools.
- Read, interpret, and use micrometers, verniers, and other precision instruments.
- Familiarize yourself with machine tools, lathes, mills, grinders, drills, and other equipment.
- Develop a working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Line up shafts and couplings, motors and drivers, and other equipment.
- Determine the cause of breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot automatic lube systems and ensure proper lubrication.
- Remove and repair broken equipment using welding or replacement parts.
- Perform overhauls and major repairs to plant machinery and equipment.
- Conduct basic rigging, unloading, and dismantling of heavy equipment.
- Understand lifting capacities and safety protocols for cables, slings, chokes, shackles, and lifting gears.
- Read and follow instruction manuals, blueprints, drawings, and sketches for equipment installation and setup.
- Dismantle, match mark, and identify component parts for moving or shipping.
- Operate acetylene equipment, including torches, and perform welding and brazing functions.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and guide apprentices and helpers.
- Comply with the Safety Act and regulations.
- Work on a rotational schedule.
- Hold a valid Ontario License Certificate of Qualification issued by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities.
- Be a certified Lift Truck Driver.
- Have health and safety-related training.
