Job Title: Substance Use Clinician - South Asian Population

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Substance Use Clinician to join our team at Fraser Health. As a member of our Mental Health and Substance Use Services team, you will provide specialized care to individuals and families from the South Asian community affected by substance use disorders and mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide intake, screening, and assessment services to clients and their families
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, including individual and group therapy
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families on harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and recovery-oriented approaches
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and service providers
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical protocols

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Counselling Psychology or Social Work
  • Two years of experience working with clients and families affected by substance use disorders and mental health issues
  • Eligibility for registration with a relevant professional association
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for work-related purposes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in Punjabi/Hindi and English
  • Demonstrated knowledge of harm reduction, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented approaches
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant Acts and regulations
