Sustainable Remediation Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned Environmental Project Manager with expertise in remediation and reclamation program management within the oil, gas, and energy sectors.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position based in Fort St. John, BC, offering a competitive salary of $90K - $110K per year.
You will lead the development, strategic planning, and successful execution of remediation and reclamation projects, ensuring alignment with client goals and regulatory standards.
The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in environmental site assessments (Phase 1 and Phase 2 ESA), regulatory compliance, and environmental closure processes.
You must be able to coordinate with regulatory bodies, including the BCER, Ministry of Environment and federal agencies, to ensure compliance and achieve environmental closure.
Key Responsibilities- Manage Phase 2 / Stage 2 ESAs, Detailed Site Assessments, and Remediation and Reclamation applications.
- Engage with diverse stakeholders, including Indigenous partners, municipal representatives, and energy producers, to align project goals and address community concerns.
- Complete and/or review reports, plans, and assessments pertaining to the investigation, reclamation, remediation, and management of contaminated sites.
- Analyze and interpret collected field data and write comprehensive technical reports.
- Oversee budget tracking and manage contractor relationships to ensure project milestones and financial objectives are met.
- An undergraduate degree in Agrology, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Forestry, Land Reclamation, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in environmental project management, with a focus on site assessments, remediation, and reclamation within the oil, gas, or energy sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of environmental site assessments (Phase 1 and Phase 2 ESA) and regulatory compliance, particularly with the BCER, Ministry of Environment and federal permitting requirements.
