Municipal Enforcement Professional

As a Municipal Enforcement Officer with the Town of Hay River, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with municipal bylaws and selected Territorial Acts. Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Protective Services, you will be responsible for enforcing bylaw requirements, responding to public complaints, and patrolling the community.
Main Responsibilities- Promote public safety and awareness through community safety programs, public education, and outreach initiatives.
- Enforce municipal bylaws through on-site attendance, engagement with the public, and preparation of correspondence and reports.
- Conduct regular patrols, perform court-related activities, and enforce speed limits and vehicle regulations.
- Investigate bylaw infractions, maintain public relations, and provide operational and administrative support to bylaw functions.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Protective Services to set goals, establish policies, and report on municipal enforcement activities.
- Manage public complaints and municipal enforcement files, working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Respond to emergency situations, including medical and fire calls, as an active member of the Hay River Fire Department.
- Work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, due to emergencies or operational requirements.
- Grade 12 or equivalent education.
- Bylaw enforcement experience or equivalent.
- Lidar/Radar certification, NFPA 1001 Level 1 and 2, and Emergency Medical Responder certifications preferred.
