Job Summary:

The BSW or Mental Health Counsellor will be part of the Addiction Treatment Services team at Brightshores, working in the Rapid Access Addiction Medicine Clinic (RAAM). This position will provide high-quality assessments, counselling, treatment planning, and referrals to appropriate services within Addiction Treatment Services, Brightshores, and the community to clients referred to or accessing the RAAM Clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assessments, counselling, and treatment planning for clients with addiction issues
  • Work closely with the Addiction Treatment Services team to achieve client goals
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Provide referrals to appropriate services within Addiction Treatment Services, Brightshores, and the community
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and community agencies to ensure comprehensive care
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress and treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of program policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field
  • Membership in the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) or registration with the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)
  • Minimum two years' experience working in a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience in addiction services, crisis intervention, and emergency psychiatry
  • Familiarity with principles and practice of intensive case management, rehabilitation, and the recovery model
  • Ability to provide a wide range of counselling, support, advocacy, and education services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPR and CPI certification
  • GAIN Q3 and/or ADAT certification

The successful candidate will be required to work in a team environment and to contribute to the development and implementation of program policies and procedures.
