Process Engineer Student

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Chemical Engineering Co-op Student to join our team at our Refinery and Chemical manufacturing facility in Sarnia, Ontario. As a Process Engineer Student, you will have the opportunity to work under the guidance of experienced Chemical Engineers and gain a comprehensive understanding of petrochemical refining processes, process safety controls, and process unit optimization.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support safe and reliable unit operations, including operations, reliability, and automation engineers.
- Work with stakeholders to identify, develop, and implement operational and facility improvements, focusing on safety, reliability, economics, and sustainability.
- Effectively communicate unit operation status, improvement opportunities, and operating costs to various stakeholders.
- Participate in risk assessments, root cause investigations, corporate networks, and communities of practice.
- Own unit mass balance to support energy and cost reporting, as well as annual long-term plan development.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate Degree in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated leadership and strong academic skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required for the role.
- Previous industry experience is considered beneficial, but not essential.
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic, results-oriented individuals who are energized by working with people and by achieving superior results.
