Project Manager - Cloud and Data Platform

Vantix Systems Inc is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead and deliver data driven technology projects in collaboration with Data Engineering platform teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up an operations framework/processes and managing completed data projects and the data platform.

The ideal candidate will have 8 years of experience working as a Project Manager on large complex software application development projects within a large and complex enterprise IT environment. They will also have experience managing multiple projects concurrently, defining project vision, scope and goals in collaboration with business stakeholders, and developing project deliverables.

The Project Manager will work remotely, but must be available for onsite meetings in Edmonton, Alberta when required. They will be responsible for managing custom application development projects with at least 5 team members and successfully implementing IT solutions in an environment with project resources from across multiple teams or organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver data driven technology projects in collaboration with Data Engineering platform teams
  • Set up an operations framework/processes and manage completed data projects and the data platform
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Define project vision, scope and goals in collaboration with business stakeholders
  • Develop project deliverables including project charters, business cases, briefing notes, status reports, risk logs and project closures
  • Manage custom application development projects with at least 5 team members
  • Successfully implement IT solutions in an environment with project resources from across multiple teams or organizations

Requirements:

  • 8 years of experience working as a Project Manager on large complex software application development projects within a large and complex enterprise IT environment
  • 8 years of experience managing multiple projects concurrently
  • 8 years of experience defining project vision, scope and goals in collaboration with business stakeholders
  • 8 years of experience developing project deliverables including project charters, business cases, briefing notes, status reports, risk logs and project closures
  • 8 years of experience managing custom application development projects with at least 5 team members
  • 8 years of experience successfully implementing IT solutions in an environment with project resources from across multiple teams or organizations

Nice to Have Skills:

  • 7 years of experience developing and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships across and outside the organization, including executive level
  • 5 years of experience leading project governance, change management and communication activities
  • 5 years of experience as project manager managing agile projects
  • 3 years of experience working on Data platform projects e.g. Microsoft Azure
  • 4 years of experience making decisions and recommendations on highly technical or complex business issues and without formal guidelines or precedents and exercises resourcefulness
  • 4 years of experience conducting, facilitating and interpreting impact and risk assessments
  • 4 years of experience creating and managing project forecasts and budgets
  • Currently active PMP or PGMP Certification as issued by the Project Management Institute or equivalent
