About the Role

Graham is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team in Calgary or Edmonton. As a Project Manager at Graham, you will be responsible for leading construction projects from planning to execution, ensuring timely completion, and meeting client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Preconstruction to develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and schedules.
  • Manage subcontracting processes, including scope review, subcontract distribution, and execution.
  • Direct the process of determining budget estimates and deliverables to clients.
  • Assist with hiring key personnel and subcontractors for projects.
  • Manage project administration, daily operations, and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Manage project schedules, milestone dates, and ensure close-out checklists are prepared and maintained.
  • Maintain relationships and communication tools with suppliers and project personnel to verify material delivery and personnel availability.
  • Review performance standards and metrics against which the team will be measured.
  • Monitor the change management process, including identifying change events, submitting change notices, pricing, and tracking change work.
  • Ensure project sites and company assets are secure, and maintain a safe and respectful working environment.
  • Provide input into the completion of an organizational and responsibility matrix at the start of the project.
  • Review contract documents to obtain a clear understanding of deliverables.
  • Manage the review and communication of objectives for critical milestones, budget, schedule, and client satisfaction measurements to project team members.
  • Assist in the input of regular status reports for company executives and project-steering committees.
  • Take direct ownership/responsibility for the development, implementation, and execution of the Project Specific Safety Plan.
  • Take personal responsibility for own health and safety, and that of other workers, visitors to the site(s), the community, and the environment.
  • Analyze the environment for potential risks or safety hazards.
  • Monitor and measure HSE goals and expectations using Key Performance Indicators.
  • Understand and comply with client requirements, Occupational Health and Safety regulations, and all applicable government laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that Project Quality Risk Assessment is conducted for the project upon award of project contract.
  • Ensure implementation of the Project Specific Quality Plan (PSQP) on the project site by all project stakeholders.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Approximately 10-15 years of experience at a general contractor or subcontractor.
  • Willing to be mobile and travel.
  • Civil, Mechanical, and/or Electrical background.
  • Sector experience in Transportation, Water, Rail, Power, and/or Nuclear.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience in alternative delivery models.
  • Strong understanding of design management (as a Project Manager), commissioning, and design/build.

Working Conditions

The majority of work is completed on job sites in an office trailer or in an existing on-site structure. Due to daily condition changes on construction projects, when employees are outside of the office trailer or structure, they must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the company's safety policies and as required for weather conditions. The incumbent may need to relocate to other site locations in the local region as required.
