Job Overview

We are looking for a talented and experienced Corporate Finance Strategist to join our professional services group. The successful candidate will work with our portfolio companies in a variety of industries to assist in the onboarding of administrative, financial, and risk management operations. This includes developing a financial and operational strategy, identifying and tracking relevant KPIs, and developing and monitoring internal controls and financial reporting processes.

The work will be varied and continuously changing, providing challenges but never being boring or mundane. The successful candidate will work as part of a team and will also be provided with mentorship and opportunities to learn and develop their skill set.

This role is broad in nature, but typically includes the following:

  • Assisting in formulating the company's future direction by providing input on financial strategies, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Developing performance measures that support the company's strategic direction
  • Maintaining effective relationships with all members of the management team to maximize financial and operating results and ensure alignment with Westbridge's strategy and reporting requirements
  • Overseeing the financial operations of subsidiary companies
  • Managing any third parties to which accounting or finance functions have been outsourced
  • Overseeing the company's transaction processing systems
  • Supporting acquisition due diligence as required, including onboarding and integration of financial reporting, systems, people, processes, and controls
  • Monitoring cash balances and forecasts and ensuring accurate reporting to senior lenders
  • Consolidating portfolio reporting and analysis to support both internal and external reporting requirements
  • Providing fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) support to new and existing portfolio companies to fill gaps as required

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, and a professional accounting designation. A minimum of 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in senior financial management roles, is required. Prior experience as a CFO is preferred.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of financial planning, analysis, and reporting, as well as experience with strategic planning, risk management, and corporate finance. They should have a proven track record of developing and implementing successful financial strategies and demonstrated experience successfully managing and leading complex projects.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are essential, along with superior communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization is also crucial.

Estimated Salary

$120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
