Job Summary

The Claims Specialist - High Net Worth Clients will be responsible for the investigation, evaluation, and timely resolution of complex claims for high net worth clients. This role requires expert knowledge and skills to handle high-profile claims that may involve litigation and environmental issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and evaluate complex claims to determine the extent of damage or loss.
  • Develop and implement strategies to resolve claims in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure all claims are appropriately managed and resolved.
  • Identify potential fraudulent claims and handle according to organizational processes and procedures.
  • Work with claim management vendors to maintain service standards.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in claims management to increase knowledge base within the organization.
  • Support the timely and accurate completion of business processes and procedures.
  • Protect the interests of the organization by identifying and managing risks, and escalating non-standard, high-risk transactions or activities as necessary.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and properly reflects client or business intentions and is consistent with relevant rules and regulations.
  • Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines, corporate, and control functions to ensure alignment with enterprise and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure necessary due diligence to support the accuracy of all customer transactions or activities.
  • Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts.
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite.
  • Assume responsibility to minimize operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank and industry Code of Conduct.
  • Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork, and ensure timely communication of issues or points of interest.
  • Provide thought leadership and/or industry knowledge for own area of expertise and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit.

Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior client service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.
  • You have demonstrated your ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment and possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • You possess strong typing and computer skills.
  • 5-7 years of Insurance Claims experience, with focus being primarily on property claims.
  • Experience dealing with more complex and larger loss insurance claims is required.
  • Experience in handling liability claims is preferred.
  • Experience with and understanding of high net worth market segment is preferred.
  • Valid driver's License and satisfactory MVR is required for field positions.
  • Travel primarily within the Greater Montreal area will be required with flexibility required to travel to other parts of the province of Qc as needed.
  • CIP/FCIP designation is considered an asset.
  • AMF claims adjusting license is required.
  • Proficient bilingualism in English and French are required.
