Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Thai Nongkhai. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the preparation and presentation of our dishes.
Key Responsibilities- Estimating and Managing Supplies: Estimate the amount and costs of supplies and food items, ensuring that we maintain optimal inventory levels and minimize waste.
- Labor Cost Estimation: Accurately estimate labor costs to ensure that we are operating within our budget.
- Client Consultation: Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets, and specialty functions to understand their needs and preferences.
- Food Allergy and Intolerance: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, ensuring that we provide a safe and enjoyable dining experience.
- Supply Ordering and Inventory Management: Order supplies and equipment, and maintain accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Culinary Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Team Supervision: Supervise and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff to ensure that they are working efficiently and effectively.
- Culinary Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume kitchen environment.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Work Environment: Fast-paced environment with a focus on attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
- Personal Qualities: Dependability, flexibility, organized, reliability, and a team player attitude.
- Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
- Work Language: English.
- Work Term: Permanent.
