Executive Chef Assistant

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef Assistant to join our team at Accor Hotel. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work in a dynamic kitchen environment, supporting the Sous Chef and contributing to the delivery of exceptional dining experiences.
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation throughout the kitchen
- Working closely with the Sous Chef to prepare and delegate duties, ensuring timely and efficient production of food items
- Liaising with Banquet Managers, Conference Service Managers, and Restaurant Managers as needed, providing exceptional customer service
- Participating in training junior staff and apprentices, sharing knowledge and skills
- Adhering to standardized recipes and specifications to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met
- Keeping the workstation clean and organized, including fridge/freezers, countertops, and range tops
- Ensuring station opening and closing procedures are carried out to standard
- Minimizing overproduction and food waste, maintaining proper rotation, labeling, and storing of food
- Operating all kitchen equipment safely, with a focus on efficiency and productivity
- Ensuring all food products are handled, stored, prepared, and served safely, in accordance with hotel and government Food Safety guidelines
- Reporting any deficiencies in kitchen equipment functionality and quality of food products to the Sous Chef or Chef de Partie
- Completing other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Red Seal Certificate (Journeymans papers) or recognized international equivalent
- Minimum 5 years cooking experience in a luxury hotel, with comparable service and standards
- Valid City of Toronto Food Handler Certificate required
- Experience and proficiency in both a la carte and production cooking
- Previous supervisory experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
