About this role

The Marketing Data and Advanced Analytics team is at the centre of marketing strategy and innovation at CIBC. We work across different enterprise teams at CIBC, helping them understand and serve our clients and Canadians better each day.

  • We apply best practices in marketing measurement, descriptive and predictive analysis, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and leverage the latest in big data technology platforms.
  • Reporting into the Senior Director of Marketing Data and Advanced Analytics, this role is responsible for leading a marketing sciences practice, delivering on strategic priorities, managing and maintaining MLOps and other enterprise governance frameworks.

This Director will lead, manage and mentor a small team of Junior and Senior Data Scientists. They will have a hands-on approach to solving problems, planning and managing change related to all aspects of marketing sciences delivery.

About your responsibilities
  1. Become the trusted Advanced Analytics & AI partner to partners across the enterprise within retail, wealth, and distribution teams.
  2. Lead the team to create, validate, and monitor both traditional AI/ML and GenAI-based solutions that deal with both structured and unstructured data sets.
  3. Provide effective leadership by coaching and mentoring team members and ensuring their alignment with business unit priorities and CIBC's overall goals.
About you

You're a passionate innovator, collaborator, and leader who is up for the challenge of building the bank of the future. You demonstrate advanced knowledge of traditional AI techniques in prediction, classification, forecasting, optimization, and/or GenAI techniques.

You have extensive hands-on experience with modern data science and machine learning languages and toolkits, including Python, Pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost, Tensorflow, Pytorch, and strong coding skills. Additionally, you have knowledge of SQL, DevOps tooling, and experience with one or more cloud services.
