About the Role
The Assistant Maintenance Team Leader is a key member of the BGIS team, responsible for delivering high-quality facilities operations and maintenance services to our clients. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the facilities team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Manage and maintain all assigned tools and equipment, ensuring that they are in good working order and that all necessary repairs and replacements are made in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular facility walkthroughs and system monitoring to identify potential issues and implement preventative maintenance measures.
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of services and to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring that their needs are met and that they are satisfied with the level of service provided.
Requirements
- College diploma or certification in a relevant field (e.g. facilities management, maintenance, engineering).
- 5-10 years of experience in facilities operations and maintenance, with a strong technical background.
- Previous leadership experience, preferably in a facilities or maintenance role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Valid driver's license and ability to wear personal protective equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade certification or license in one or more of the following: journeyman level refrigeration license, gasfitter I or II license, journeyman level electrical license, journeyman level plumbing license, industrial mechanic, steamfitter/pipefitter, power engineering 3rd class.
