About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Franco's Carpenter. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including preparing layouts, measuring and cutting materials, and building foundations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma.
  • Work site environment: At heights, noisy, dusty, and outdoors.
  • Work setting: Construction, various locations, renovation, commercial, industrial, and residential.
  • Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools.
  • Transportation/travel information: Own transportation.
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling, combination of sitting, standing, walking, handling heavy loads, large workload, physically demanding, and tight deadlines.
  • Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
  • Personal suitability: Accurate, client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, judgement, reliability, team player, and punctuality.
