About the Role:

The Mechanical Estimator Lead will be responsible for developing accurate, complete, and competitive estimates for industrial, commercial, and institutional projects. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, estimating software, and team leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of project specifications and drawings.
  • Develop detailed material and labor take-offs.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to ensure accurate pricing.
  • Review estimates with project managers and team members to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and submit bids and proposals to clients.
  • Liaise with procurement to obtain pricing and quotes.
  • Participate in project meetings and site reviews.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members on estimating and project management.
  • Assist in the development of estimating software and processes.
  • Track and manage bids and proposals in an Excel sheet.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in HVAC, hydronics, and plumbing.
  • Post-secondary degree or higher.
  • Familiarity with building codes and plumbing codes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to adapt to new software and applications.
  • Trade certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
