Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our Risk and Safety Services team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and operational oversight to ensure the University's risk management, safety, and security needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to manage risk and ensure a culture of safety and risk management across the University.
  • Lead the departments of Environmental Health and Safety, Campus Security and Emergency Services, and Insurance Services.
  • Advise the University on risk management, safety, and security matters, and provide expertise on risk-based audit planning.
  • Provide leadership in Business Continuity Planning and ensure the University is prepared for any potential disruptions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key partners, including the City of Kingston, Police Services, and the Queen's Senior Leadership Team.
Requirements
  • A university degree, preferably with a graduate degree, and significant experience in a senior management role.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, policy development, financial planning, and analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to compile, synthesize, and interpret data.
  • Experience in leading diverse teams and developing inclusive work environments.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
