We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Accounting Coordinator to join our team at Grant Thornton. As a key member of our accounting services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional accounting support to our clients, ensuring accurate and timely financial information, and contributing to the growth and success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform monthly accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, closing entries, and reconciliations, for various clients, while respecting deadlines and budgets.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, and account and variance analyses.
  • Prepare payroll journals, DAS, government forms (CNESST, GST, QST, etc.).
  • Train clients on accounting software and other accounting topics and provide telephone assistance.
  • Prepare year-end tax forms (T-4 and possibly T-5).
  • Communicate with government authorities to follow up on files.
  • Prepare end-of-year files.
  • Participate in the preparation of personal tax returns and carry out follow-ups.
  • Ensure the coordination of projects (clients) under your responsibility and carry out the necessary follow-ups.
  • Perform various administrative tasks (customer payment deposits, inventory of office supplies, ordering supplies, etc.).
  • Make recommendations to ensure the optimization of tools and processes.
  • Ensure coordination of the physical office in Kuujjuaq (opening and closing of the office).
Requirements
  • Professional or college diploma in accounting.
  • More than 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in an accounting firm (an asset) or transversal business experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of the accounting cycle, consumer taxes, payroll preparations, and deductions at source.
  • Ability to work with a remote team.
  • Very good skills in versatility, autonomy, resourcefulness, and customer service.
  • Excellent communication in English (spoken and written). French a strong asset.
  • Very good knowledge of Office suite software, more specifically Excel.
  • Good knowledge and experience with Sage 50 accounting software.
  • Demonstrates rigor, attention to detail, and discretion.
