Job Title: Airport Operations Manager

The Kativik Regional Government (KRG) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Airport Operations Manager to join our team. As an Airport Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient management of airport operations, including the management of resources, implementation of airport programs, and provision of leadership to assigned staff.



The successful candidate will have a university degree or post-secondary diploma in a related field, with a minimum of five years of relevant work experience in an airport-related field. Experience with project management and report preparation, preferably in the transportation industry, is an asset. The candidate must have knowledge of airport Safety Management Systems and proven abilities in planning, organizing, and problem-solving with quality decision-making skills.



The KRG offers a competitive salary range of $90,231 to $124,068 per year, as well as additional benefits, including a cost of living differential, food allowance, and annual leave trips. The KRG is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from qualified candidates.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Manage resources for day-to-day operations, safety, and serviceability of all airport facilities
  • Implement and administer airport programs to operate in a safe and secure manner
  • Conduct ongoing communications, consultative, and promotional activities of the airport
  • Provide leadership and functional direction to assigned staff
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to airport operations
  • Manage airport emergency response plan and liaise with responding agencies and tenants
  • Work with the Coordinator Regulatory Process to maintain the Safety Management System
  • Conduct regular inspections of airports in accordance with applicable regulations, standards, policies, and guidelines
  • Review invoices and recommend payment approval
  • Work within the requisition system to complete purchasing requisitions
  • Identify training needs and assist in the development of training plans and materials
  • Work within the Travel Management System for all travel requirements for assigned staff
  • Review timesheets and validate information prior to sending them to payroll
  • Provide support to Coordinators of Operations and Administration in the Transport Department


Requirements:




  • University degree or post-secondary diploma in a related field
  • Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in an airport-related field
  • Experience with project management and report preparation, preferably in the transportation industry
  • Knowledge of airport Safety Management Systems
  • Proven abilities in planning, organizing, and problem-solving with quality decision-making skills
  • Good communication and writing skills in at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, English, or French
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to work independently
  • Work experience in a multicultural environment, preferably in Aboriginal communities
