About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team at JPS Trucking Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across the country in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation of Goods: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Logistics and Planning: Arrange travel, related itineraries, and make reservations to optimize routes and reduce transit times.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team goals, receiving and relaying information to central dispatch as needed.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of cargo, adhering to regulations and company protocols for the transportation of dangerous goods.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: AZ class license, Air Brakes Endorsement, Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Driver's License (Class 1 or A), and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate.
  • Experience: Experience an asset, with a strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety protocols.
