Position Overview

Shared Health is seeking a Wellbeing Leader to support the development and implementation of wellbeing initiatives, prevention strategies, and policies that promote the holistic wellbeing of the ERS workforce.

Main Function:

The Wellbeing Leader will be instrumental in supporting the development and implementation of wellbeing initiatives, prevention strategies, and policies that will promote the holistic wellbeing of the ERS workforce. The goal of these initiatives will be to build provincial capacity in responding to crisis, promoting recovery, fostering awareness of mental health supports, and enabling wellbeing along a continuum for ERS personnel.

The incumbent will work collaboratively with various stakeholders including Service Delivery Organizations, Occupational and Environmental Safety & Health (OESH), Shared Health, Manitoba Health, and other health providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of wellbeing initiatives, prevention strategies, and policies
  • Provide psychological supports, education, and training to the ERS workforce
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to build provincial capacity in responding to crisis, promoting recovery, and fostering awareness of mental health supports
  • Support the implementation and delivery of a Critical Incident Stress Response Program across a full continuum of services

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in the healthcare delivery system and/or in a directly related role in healthcare
  • Minimum three (3) years' clinical experience working within Emergency Response Services
  • First responder/emergency management experience is an asset
  • Mental health background is an asset
  • Experience in providing the full continuum of Critical Incident Stress Response in both a group and individual setting
  • Strong clinical knowledge of mental health interventions, trauma, workplace stress, operational stress injuries, psychological safety in the workplace, and mental health and wellbeing
  • Experience and knowledge with the delivery of services and programs that foster equity, diversity, inclusion is an asset
  • Experience and demonstrated sensitivity in collaborating with Indigenous Peoples and culturally diverse populations
  • Experience with providing psychological supports to individuals and groups, both in person and virtually
  • Familiarity with Manitoba's public health care ERS system and services

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Public Health, Health Sciences or a related field)
  • A combination of relevant experience and education may be considered

Certification/Licensure/Registration:

  • Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate
  • A valid Manitoba driver's license and use of a personal motor vehicle is required
