We are seeking a qualified Academic Instructor to join our team at the University of Ottawa.

About the Role

This is a full-time teaching position in the Department of Celtic Studies, with an estimated salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate students in the course The Celtic Woman: Between Myth and Reality.

About the Course

This 3-unit course explores the role of women in early Celtic religion and myth, as well as their participation in tribal politics in Britain and Gaul during the Classical period.

Students will gain insight into the special place of women in medieval law and society in early Ireland and Wales, as well as women's writings in a male-oriented bardic tradition.

Requirements

A Master's degree in Celtic Studies or equivalent is required, as well as experience in teaching The Celtic Woman: Between Myth and Reality.

Bilingualism in French and English is also highly valued.
